Confluence Park set to open on Saturday
SAN ANTONIO—Icy weather pushed back the opening of Confluence Park but having more time just means more attention to details for workers handling the project.
There will be a grand opening ceremony for the park, which is located at 310 West Mitchell, at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
The San Antonio River Foundation and San Antonio River Authority have spent years planning, securing financial support, and handling construction of the park. Councilwoman Rebecca Viagran considers it a world-class, unique place near the San Antonio Historic Missions, which are a World Heritage Site.
"It's not even officially open yet, but they have already had about 350 students come and visit and learn about our river, our watershed, our tributaries,” Viagran told us.
Viagran is excited about the new addition to her district and spoke to us about the park.
