SAN ANTONIO - Eight people were shot late Friday night after a man allegedly opened fire outside a bar.
According to SAPD, the shooter was at a bar with three others in the 8000 block of Broadway Friday night. At some point, the group left the bar they were at to head to REBAR, which was across the street.
Investigators say a bouncer at REBAR told police the group was too drunk, so he told them they could not enter.
This is when the shooter allegedly asked the bouncer "don't you know who I am? I'm the UFC fighter from California," according to SAPD Chief William McManus.
The group then left the bar, but the man soon returned with a long rifle, McManus continued, then fired multiple rounds.
Eight people - five women and three men - were shot before the shooter took off. All of the victims drove themselves to hospitals nearby, McManus said some were graze wounds, while the worst was shot in the back, all are reportedly stable however.
The victims were between the ages of 23-41-years-old. Police say the shooter is still on the loose.
