Driver checking damage to his car hit, killed by passing motorcyclist, say police

SAN ANTONIO - A man checking damage to his car was killed when he was hit by a motorcyclist going 100 miles per hour, said police.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the victim was involved in an accident on the access road of Loop 1604 and La Cantera Parkway at about 1:30 a.m. on Friday.

Investigators say Hector Luis Salinas, Jr., got out of his car to get a closer look at the damage when a passing motorcyclist slammed into the man. Salinas died from his injuries. .

The motorcyclist was thrown off his bike and critically injured. He was taken to a hospital where he remained in critical condition. Officers later said they estimated the rider was going about 100 miles per hour.

No other information was released.
