A local woman who is expecting her first child this summer is making a social media splash with her pregnancy pics, which were taken inside an H-E-B store.

Ashley Quinn-Mercer says the pictures were taken by photographer Dillon Kirk at the end of December at the H-E-B store located along Bulverde Road.

Mercer, her husband Philip and her stepson, Kash, feature adorably in the pics as they're loading up on ice cream, diapers and baby clothes.

But why H-E-B?

"I absolutely love the colorful visuals in a grocery store setting," says Mercer in an email. "We also didn't want to do a typical or conventional announcement - really wanted to showcase our artistic and creative personalities."

Mercer adds there's a personal connection, too.

"My father-in-law, Ken Mercer, was a truck driver for H-E-B for 41 years and recently retired. H-E-B is a staple in our family.

Mercer is due in July and says the family is praying for healthy child.

"Get ready world! We've got a super creative and punny kid on deck!"

As for a gender reveal? "I'm working on cooking something up as we speak."
