Find Scott Mayer Facebook Page: Scott "no longer with us"
Scott Mayer, the baseball coach missing since May 2, has been found dead, according to the Facebook page "Find Scott Mayer."
A spokesperson for the Comal County Sheriff's Office confirmed a body matching that of Mayer was found Saturday morning during a search in Bulverde.
An autopsy has been ordered, but there are no signs of foul play at this time, the spokesperson said.
Mayer was last seen on Wednesday, May 2, in the TPC Parkway and U.S. 281 area.
The 47-year-old was well known within the Texas baseball community as a coach for the South Texas Sliders, a premier select youth baseball team.
A spokeswoman for North East Independent School District, where Mayer worked, released the following statement:
"The NEISD family was heartbroken to learn the news about Scott. This is such a tremendous loss for the entire community and he will be greatly missed. He made such a positive impact on so many people’s lives and his legacy will live on. During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Scott’s wife, girls, and his entire family."
