18 displaced after fire damages West Side apartment complex
SAN ANTONIO - Nearly 20 people were displaced and one man was hurt when fire broke out at the Vivid Apartment Homes complex on the city's West Side on Wednesday morning.
According to the San Antonio Fire Department, the fire erupted inside the wall of a first floor apartment shortly after 10 a.m.
The fire spread through the walls and inside the space between the first and second floors of a building. A maintenance man discovered the fire and burned himself when he tried to put it out.
Dozens of fire crews were called to the scene to help put out the flames. No one else was hurt.
About 18 tenants will now have to stay at a sister property while the damage is assessed and repaired.
