SAN ANTONIO - A woman was hospitalized in critical condition after an officer pulled her out of her burning home on Sunday night.

Police arrived at the home on North Meadow Lane just before 11 p.m., saw smoke coming from the house and was told by a neighbor that a woman who lives there had not been seen.

An officer rushed into the house, found the woman lying on the floor near the living room and pulled her out. She was unconscious and officers began CPR in an effort to save her life. When paramedics arrived, they were able to get a pulse.

The victim was revived and she was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition.

Firefighters said it was unclear what started the fire; the cause remained under investigation.
