Friends of shooting victim want safety improvements at bar where he was killed
SAN ANTONIO —
26-year-old Terrence Scott is remembered as the friend who always made everyone laugh.
"He was just a great person. Anytime you get around him - laughing. I've never see anybody be upset with him,” said Laura Molano.
Molano and Scott had a close friendship. She called him a brother.
She was there the November 2018 night that Scott was shot and killed inside of Chaser’s Sports Bar on the Northside of San Antonio.
"That night just replays in my head. I see it, I see him still laying there,” said Molano.
A small altercation over the “VIP section” ended when 24-year-old Tremaurya Powell allegedly opened gunfire. Powell was arrested in December and charged with murder.
“I hope he gets life and even that, that's not justice. He took away a very important person to alot of people,” said Molano.
Molano says the bar has been plagued by violence. Reports show that there have been stabbings and shootings at the establishment since 2016.
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission has an open investigation into the bar.
"I already had a bad vibe just walking in there. It’s very crowded and not enough security for as many people that go in there. It's not safe,” said Molano.
We went by the bar on Tuesday evening to speak with management and see if there have been any safety improvements made but the business was closed. We called the number listed to the business but it was disconnected.
