Hit-and-run driver stopped to remove victim from truck, claims witness

SAN ANTONIO - A man was struck and killed after he tried to cross San Pedro Avenue on the city's North Side early Monday morning.

According to officers, the unidentified victim was crossing the street near San Pedro and Sahara when he was hit by a blue truck at about 1:30 a.m.

One witness reportedly told investigators the driver stopped only to remove the victim's body from the vehicle before taking off. No arrests have been made.

The victim was believed to be in his 60s or 70s. No other details were released.
