Homes painted for elderly, disabled, and veterans
SAN ANTONIO -- Part of the East Side is looking a little brighter.
Eleven 11 homes were painted as part of the EastPoint Shine Paint-A-Thon. The event was put on by the city's housing authority and the office of EastPoint to target the area. The homes are owned by the elderly, disabled, and veterans.
"The city's volunteer program recruited 150 volunteers from local organizations, the city organization and local schools like Trinity, Incarnate Word and UTSA to help paint these houses," said Thea Setterbol of the City of San Antonio.
The homes were selected through the choice neighborhood initiative managed by SAHA.
