Nearby public schools to provide free meals for children

IDEA PUBLIC Schools offering free lunch programs

Free breakfast and lunch across the state at IDEA Public Schools will be offered to eligible students during the 2018-2019 school year.

Schools that qualify to operate in in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) will be providing breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge.

The following schools in San Antonio that will be part of the CEP this next school year are:

  1. IDEA Carver
  2. IDEA Eastside
  3. IDEA Judson
  4. IDEA Mays
  5. IDEA Monterrey Park
  6. IDEA South Flores
  7. IDEA Walzem
  8. IDEA Najim
  9. IDEA Brackenridge
  10. IDEA Ewing Halsell

Families that do not attend a campus on this list are asked to fill out the free-and-reduced-lunch application online here or fill out the proper form and drop it off at their campus before the first day of school.

Comal ISD free lunch program

Comal ISD announced they will be providing free and reduced-price meals for children that are currently under the income eligibility guidelines.

You can fill out an application online here, or a paper application will be available at Child Nutrition Support Services.

NEISD Free and Reduced Lunch Applications Being Accepted

Applications can be submitted anytime during the school year. The information household provide on the application will determine eligibility. Applications may also be verified by school officials at any time during the school year. If any household member becomes unemployed or if the size increases, the household should contact the school. Changes may be made to the child’s benefits if the household’s income falls at or below the attached current income eligibility guidelines.

NEISD will be providing reduced lunch programs to those who qualify. Notices were sent out on July 24th to households of children in the district. You can fill out an application online here.

During the 2018-2019 school year 23 NEISD elementary schools and 1 middle school qualify to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision of the National School Lunch Program. This means students that are enrolled in these schools will receive free breakfast and lunch, without filling an application.

These schools are: Camelot, Clear Spring, Colonials Hills, Dellview, East Terrell Hills, El Dorado, Fox Run, Harmony Hills, Jackson-Keller, Larkspur, Montgomery, Northern Hills, Oak Grove, Olmos, Regency Place, Ridgeview, Serna, Stahl, Walzem, West Avenue, Wilshire, Windcrest and Woodstone elementary schools, as well as Nimitz Middle School.
