Improved MLK March route unveiled ahead of annual event

SAN ANTONIO - Councilman Alan E. Warrick unveiled the new Martin Luther King, Jr. March Route ahead of the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March early Monday morning.

Warrick and the Transportation & Capital Improvements and the office of EastPoint unveiled route improvements including a newly designed street sign bearing the image of Dr. King, banners with quotes of Dr. King and a mural "Dream Peace" designed and created by Mosaic, the student artist program at Blue Star.

The mural will be located at the Coleman Crossing along the March Route.

The 29th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March returns next Monday, January 18, 2016.

The San Antonio MLK, Jr. Commission is raffling off a new 2015 Nissan Altima, courtesy of World Car Nissan. Proceeds will provide scholarships to local students.
