Laredo agents stops narcotic smuggling attempt

LAREDO, Texas - Laredo Sector Border Patrol Agents stopped a smuggling attempt Wednesday and seized 366 pounds of marijuana.

Agents responded to suspicious activity near Mines Road in Laredo, finding several suspects loading bundles of drugs into a 2001 black Ford Explorer. When officials arrived near the site at Manadas Creek, they witnessed several suspects running back into Mexico.

Five bundles of marijuana, worth an estimated $293,568 was found in the vehicle. The Explorer was seized and drugs turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
