Local volunteers seek to improve community during World Clean Up Day

SAN ANTONIO - A worldwide mission to clean up our Earth is happening in San Antonio.

The event is a campaign, organized by the World Mission Society Church of God, seeking to improve environment and improve our communities.

Despite the heat, a group of volunteers came to clean up the area along Stahl Road on the Northeast Side.

"This is a great community effort to clean up our roads and I encourage many people to get out as much as you can to clean up the roads here in District 10. It's a fantastic effort and we really encourage that," said Clayton Perry, City Council District 10.

Cleanup efforts have been ongoing throughout the city all month.
