The man accused of killing his childhood friend early Sunday morning has been arrested.

According to police, it all started when two men were at a baby shower in the 10000 block of Patton Blvd. Family members said that at about 2 a.m., everyone went to sleep but the two men stayed up and kept drinking. At about 5 a.m., one of the men had too much to drink and wanted to drive home, but the other man attempted to stop him. The drunk friend then became angry and the two got into a fight. At some point, the drunk friend, identified as 23-year-old Juan Jose Ortega, pulled out a knife and stabbed his friend in the neck. Ortega then ran to the house and yelled for someone to call EMS.

The victim, identified as 25-year-old Guy Larue, was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Ortega was arrested and charged with murder. He's being held on a $100,000 bond.
