SAN ANTONIO — A man was airlifted to the hospital Sunday morning and another person was hospitalized after their minivan crashed into a 18-wheeler.
Authorities were called to Interstate 37 and Hardy Road at about 9 a.m. for reports of an accident. Deputies said the minivan struck the 18-wheeler from behind. A 40-year-old man was airlifted to University Hospital in critical condition, while the driver of the minivan was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in stable condition.
Emergency crews spent more than 30 minutes getting the people out of the minivan.
A supervisor said the stretch of highway will be shutdown for at least three hours.
