Man bails out of car just before collision with train

    SAN ANTONIO - A train smashed into a car Friday morning.

    Police tell us a car was struck on the tracks shortly before 6am just outside Downtown near South Salado Street and the Buena Vista Street bridge. Luckily, no one was in the car at the time of the collision.

    The driver of car was driving on the tracks when he allegedly blacked out. Police say when he came to, he panicked and jumped out of the car.

    An attempt was made to stop the train, but was unsuccessful.

    Roads were blocked in that area.

    No word yet on if the driver will face charges.
