Police have arrested a man accused of possessing potentially explosive materials at his Live Oak home Monday evening.

Authorities were called to a home in the 11800 block of Rainey Meadow Lane at 4:30 p.m. After a person made an anonymous tip to police, bomb squad found suspicious chemicals inside the home that could be used to create explosives. The investigation revealed the chemicals were not dangerous, ending the threat.

Jett Garcia, 21, was arrested and charged with possession of a hoax bomb, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession of a prohibited weapon, a third-degree felony.

Authorities said nothing links this situation to the two explosives detonated in Austin on Monday where a 17-year-old was killed and a 75-year-old woman was critically wounded.
