Man placed in coma with possible permanent brain damage after hit-and-run
SAN MARCOS, Texas —
San Marcos police need your help finding a hit-and-run driver that left a man in a coma Saturday night with possible permanent brain damage.
Pedro Ybarra, 54, and his daughter, Larissa Ybarra, 23, were struck by a car while crossing the intersection of North LBJ Drive and Hutchison Street. Both were transported to Seton Hays Hospital and Pedro was admitted to the ICU with severe head injuries, possible permanent brain damage and has been placed in a medically induced coma. His daughter was released from the hospital.
Witnesses told police a maroon colored 2007-2010 model 4-door Chevrolet Tahoe with possible damage to the driver side bumper fled the scene after the accident. Witnesses did not record a license plate.
The hit-and-run driver likely traveled north on LBJ Dr, west on Hutchison Street, south on Guadalupe Street and then west on Hopkins Street.
Authorities are requesting any information or witnesses to the incident, specifically any businesses with video of the offender’s vehicle, body shops who completed repairs on matching vehicles for collision-related damages, or any person with information about the suspect to contact police immediately.
