Motorcyclist arrested after leading deputy on chase
SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist was arrested after authorities say he led a deputy on a chase on the South Side.
Officers at the scene said a Bexar County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted a motorcyclist speeding along Southeast Military Drive at more than 90 miles an hour around 11:20 p.m. Friday. The deputy tried to get the motorcyclist to pull over, but he instead sped off.
The deputy asked for assistance from the Department of Public Safety helicopter and then backed off the chase. The helicopter crew spotted the suspect heading north on South Presa and turning onto East Southcross. They say as he reached South Hackberry, he fell off his motorcycle.
The suspect will be charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and reckless driving.
