Officers trade in the badge for basketball on the East Side
SAN ANTONIO - It's a bit of a different game of hoops on the East Side. Members of San Antonio Police Department went out to the court Sunday night to take on players of all ages.
Usually, you'd see Alonzio Hardin with a badge, but today he's just trying to get the ball.
"I'm known for the long distance jump shot," Hardin said.
Christopher Batiste has plans for SAPD's finest.
"I'm a big man, so I'm get big down there in the paint," Batiste said.
But it's not about winning or losing. It's a chance for officers to get to know the community they serve.
"It's just a way to tell you, we care," Hardin said.
