Officials investigating Canyon Lake shooting that left husband, wife dead
SAN ANTONIO - Officials are investigating a shooting that resulted in the deaths of a husband and a wife.
Deputies were called to the 300 block of Remuda Ranch in Canyon Lake at about 1:30 p.m. Friday for a report of shots fired. Authorities found Andrew Dominik Garcia, 49, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot and Heather Chamberlain, 46, suffering from a gunshot wound. Chamberlain was taken to University Hospital in San Antonio, but died later. Authorities said Garcia and Chamberlain were married.
Chamberlain's son was in the home and was not hurt in the shooting. Two handguns were found in the home and authorities believe at least one was used in the shooting.
Garcia was arrested twice for assault back in 2008, but they did not involve Chamberlain. There were no previous calls for domestic disputes at the home, authorities said.
Officials are waiting for the autopsy results before concluding the investigation.
