Man shot in head after girlfriend says someone broke into home
UVALDE, Texas - A Uvalde man is dead after police say he was shot in the head Wednesday night.
According to officials, the mans girlfriend called 911 saying someone broke into the home in the 600 block of Boone Street and she thought her boyfriend had been shot.
When officers arrived, they found the man lying on the floor near the front door with a gunshot wound to the head.
A witness told Uvalde police they saw a man dressed in all black clothing with a black bandana running east from the home.
After searching, police say they found a person of interest, who is in custody.
The man who was shot was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing.
