Police find possible explosive materials in Live Oak home
SAN ANTONIO - Police are investigating possible explosive materials Monday evening found inside a Live Oak home.
Authorities were called to a home in the 11800 block of Rainey Meadow Lane at 4:30 p.m. After a person made an anonymous tip to police, bomb squad found suspicious chemicals inside the home that could be used to create explosives. The investigation revealed the chemicals were not dangerous, ending the threat. Police said the neighborhood is safe.
Police are still questioning a person of interest, but have not taken anyone into custody for the incident. Three people were inside the home at the time, police said.
Some of the houses in the neighborhood were evacuated as a precaution, police said.
Authorities said nothing links this situation to the two explosives detonated in Austin Monday. A 17-year-old was killed and a 75-year-old woman was critically wounded in the blasts.
