Police: Man steals mom’s credit card, rents truck, leads officers on chase
SAN ANTONIO —
Police are searching for a man accused of leading officers on a chase Saturday morning.
According to officers at the scene, it all started around 10:30 a.m. at a home on Timberhill. Police say a 31-year-old stole his mother’s credit card to rent a truck and then stripped all of the decals from the rental company off of it.
Police say the man's mom followed him in a car and called 911. A spokesperson for the San Antonio Police Department told us that when officers found him in the Medical Center area, he took off. He said the man then jumped out of the truck, hopped over a fence and ran into a greenbelt area.
Police called in their “Eagle” helicopter and K9s to help search for the man. At last check, they were still searching for him.
A spokesperson for the San Antonio Police Department said he has a history of violence. When found, he could be facing charges for evading arrest on foot and evading arrest.
