Police are on the lookout for a hit-and-run driver who ran over a woman in a South Austin Walmart parking lot.

The crash happened on February 9th at the gas station in the Walmart off Ben White Boulevard and I-35. Around 2 a.m. surveillance video shows a truck hitting a woman and then running her over with both sets of tires. Police say the driver then sped off without stopping.

Police are still looking for that driver and hope someone will recognize the truck in the surveillance video.

Detectives say the woman ran over in the crash is still in the hospital.

“It was a very difficult video to watch but it's a good thing they did have some cameras out there,” APD Detective Adrian Duran said. “If someone sees that vehicle and says, 'hey, that looks like John's car.'”

The vehicle is described as:

  • Dark green
  • Diesel Dodge pickup with lift kit
  • Oversized wheels
  • Front brush guard

If anyone has information about this crash, they can call APD’s Highway Enforcement at (512) 974-5789.
