President Bill Clinton helped close out the NAACP Convention
SAN ANTONIO - Former President Bill Clinton addressed the 109th NAACP Convention Wednesday night at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center.
The 42nd President of the United States delivered remarks during the Freedom Fund Awards Dinner. Mr. Clinton spoke about the importance of Public Service. Clinton also presented the Spingarn Medal.
The Spingarn Medal is considered the highest honor recognizing the merit and achievements of African Americans since 1914.
Some previous recipients include Oprah Winfrey, and Martin Luther King Jr.
This year's recipient is Willie Brown Jr., former 2-term Mayor of San Francisco.
