Records: Man drugged, sexually assaulted woman following car crash
SAN ANTONIO —
Investigators have charged a man accused of drugging and sexually assaulted a woman following a car crash over the weekend.
The victim told officers that she had gotten into a car crash in New Braunfels on Aug. 11. According to the affidavit, Enrique Avila Lopez offered to help the victim and her kids after they left the hospital. When they got to his house, the victim laid down and asked for some Advil. The victim said Lopez had asked her where her sleeping pills were, which she thought was odd.
When the victim woke up, she said she was in pain. Lopez then gave her a pill by hand and she immediately passed out, according to an affidavit. The victim woke up again the next morning completely naked with Lopez on top of her, the affidavit stated. The victim said lost consciousness again and woke up hours later. She asked Lopez if he had sex with her and he allegedly said yes.
Lopez is now charged with aggravated sexual assault.
