Resident shot, killed in home invasion; suspect shot in the neck
SAN ANTONIO —
One man was killed and another was injured in a violent home invasion late Tuesday night.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, three men broke into a home on Regina Street just before midnight and began to struggle with a resident.
The resident was shot once. He died at the scene. His roommate was not injured, but was apparently held at gunpoint during the home invasion.
One of the intruders was also shot in the neck. He was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition. He was later identified as 32-year-old Eddie Padilla. Padilla is now charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault. His bond was set at $100,000.
The other two intruders ran off and have not been caught. Police said the deadly incident remained under investigation.
