Man's leg amputated in deadly rollover accident
SAN ANTONIO -- Authorities identified the man killed following a rollover accident on the West side Friday night.
Aaron Trevino, 23, was pronounced dead by the Bexar County Medical Examiner.
Trevino was driving a black Mercedes when he crossed multiple lanes of traffic and drove off the right shoulder of the highway. He tried to steer back to the left, but the car rolled over multiple times according to roadway evidence.
Police said the front passenger was ejected from the vehicle and his leg was amputated during the crash. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Trevino, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Texas Department of Transportation tweeted it received reports that drivers were pulling over to take pictures of the accident scene.
Police said an SUV was traveling westbound on Highway 90, speeding in and out of traffic, when the driver went off the road. He tried to move back on to the road but flipped his car multiple times near Cupples Road.
Trevino died at the scene. Another man inside the car was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Police said there were no signs of alcohol involved.
