Shooter flees after shooting, killing man on East Side
SAN ANTONIO —
A man was shot and killed Sunday afternoon while crossing the street on the East Side.
Authorities responded to Nevada and South Pine Street at about 3:30 Sunday to find a man with a gunshot wound to his chest. He died on his way to the hospital, police said.
Police said the victim, 20, was crossing the street when a silver car pulled up close to him and fired several shots. It is unclear if words were exchanged, police said. The shooter is on the run after fleeing the scene on Nevada.
Police are still investigating the incident. The shooting happened one day after an East Side rally aimed to curb violence in the area.
