Suspect admitted to robbing Dollar Store, threatening clerk, affidavit says
SAN ANTONIO —
According to an affidavit, the man accused of robbing a Dollar Store on Tuesday admitted to the crime and is now facing aggravated robbery charges.
Police responded to the store located near Pleasanton Road and Division. Officers at the scene said the suspect tied the clerk up, stole several items and then fled through the back door. The clerk said the suspect had a gun but didn't fire.
Further investigation led detectives to a man who was arrested during a traffic stop for an outstanding Municipal Court warrant.
During questioning, Orlando Puente confessed to the robbery. He admitted to entering the store, threatening the clerk and stealing money from the safe, according to the affidavit.
Puente was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
