Suspects point laser at DPS helicopter; one detained

SAN ANTONIO — Officers are searching for two men accused of pointing a laser at a law enforcement helicopter early Friday morning.

The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. when three men pointed a blue laser at a helicopter belonging to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The pilot alerted the San Antonio Police Department, who found one of the men at the Cordoba Apartments, near I-10 and Callaghan Road. The other two men ran off.

Pointing a laser at an aircraft is a federal offense.
