FLASH FLOOD WATCH: TX Gov. activates State Operations Center ahead of massive cold front
SAN ANTONIO —
Governor Greg Abbott wants Texas to be weather-ready as severe weather moved across the area on Friday ahead of a massive cold front.
He activated the Texas State Operations Center, to effectively respond to flooding, snow and ice, across the state.
In San Antonio, snow and ice are not expected, but rain could cause big problems along San Antonio's roadways. Heavy rain is expected to fall all day Friday and into Friday night. Flash flooding is possible and a flash flood watch is in effect until Saturday morning.
The Texas Department of Transportation, Department of Public Safety and other state agencies will be ready to assist if necessary, in case of severe flooding.
