U.S. Marshals find fugitive featured on Fox San Antonio in Serbia
Marshals' Most Wanted is the first weekly segment of its kind in San Antonio, featuring fugitives wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service. In that time Fox San Antonio viewers have helped pick up fugitives who have been hiding from the law. Tips that have help track down wanted men and women all over the world.
Just a few weeks ago a sex offender, who failed to register as part of his sentence, was finally found. Deputy Nick Rose tells Fox San Antonio that Chase Paul Garcia, whom we have featured several times on Marshals’ Most Wanted, was located in Serbia.
Rose and other deputies traveled to Serbia and picked up Garcia, who was found living in the Serbian mountains. Garcia, who has no apparent ties to Serbia, was convicted of Possession of Child Pornography in San Antonio.
Garcia told deputies during the long trip home that he thought the U.S. didn’t have an extradition treaty with Serbia and that’s why he fled there.
Chase Paul Garcia is now behind bars without bond. He’s awaiting trial for failure to register and for his final revocation hearing on a probation violation.
