Viola's Huge Heart Foundation raises money for scholarships

SAN ANTONIO — Helping local students while honoring the memory of a Westside woman long known for her generosity.

For the past five years on the birthday of Viola Barrios, her family has been raising money for the Viola’s Huge Heart Foundation.

The event took place at Viola’s Ventanas Sunday.

The proceeds from the event help provide scholarships for children in need.

In fact, the guests of honor were more than 300 orphaned and foster children from shelters all across the city.

They had great food, but there was also a cool exhibit from the San Antonio Zoo, along with face painting and live music.
