West Side residents call for more security after two shootings in one week
SAN ANTONIO - A recent rash of violence has some people moving out of one Westside neighborhood with others calling for heightened security measures.
This comes after two separate shootings in just the past week.
Westward Drive off West Military and Highway 90.
"Been on the news quite a bit," Roland Sanchez said.
It's where bullets flew on two separate nights.
"It's scary," Sanchez said.
Last night, police arrested Marquavrius Moore for allegedly shooting at an apartment complex security guard.
Luckily, the bullet just grazed the guard's hand.
And on Friday of the week before, another shooting but this time it took a man's life.
"Once we get home, we stay in side," Sanchez said. "It's too dangerous."
Now, Westward Drive residents want something done.
"Just step up security," a resident said.
Others are choosing to leave.
"We are going to move out," Sanchez said.
