Woman convicted in drunk driving deaths awaits sentencing
SAN ANTONIO - A woman convicted of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault back in 2015 awaits her sentencing.
The punishment phase continued today for Sylvia Herrera, who, according to police, was drunk and speeding three years ago when she crashed into the back of a sedan at a stop light on the access road of Loop 410 and Highway 151.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Nick Ramirez, 22, and Laren Molina, 21, dead in the back seat of the sedan. Herrera and the front two passengers of the sedan were seriously injured.
Ramirez and Molina were driving home from Cheddars after their shift that night.
Herrera now waits for her punishment phase to end. She pleaded guilty Tuesday.
