Woman dies after snapping telephone pole in half with car, hitting building
SAN ANTONIO —
A woman died after slamming her car into a telephone pole then hitting a building Sunday.
Authorities said a woman in her 50's is dead after she was slouched in a vehicle and parked in a parking lot of a shopping center at the 1300 block of Bandera Road Sunday when a man approached the vehicle trying to wake her up. The woman accelerated the vehicle at a high speed crossing Bandera Road and the vehicle slammed into an electrical pole.
The electrical pole snapped in half and the woman's vehicle hit a building before coming to a stop. When emergency crews arrived, the woman was trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued. The woman suffered from massive leg injuries and was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead.
The woman has not been identified yet and police are investigating.
