SAN ANTONIO - Angie Torres, charged for her role in the cover-up of the death of Baby King Jay, has been sentenced to prison.

On Friday, Oct. 15, 48-year-old Angie Torres pled guilty in the 227th District Court to a charge of tampering with evidence with intent to impair, a 3rd-degree felony.

Torres was charged with assisting the staged car theft and kidnapping of King Jay Davila, including the discarding of a car seat to cover up the death of Baby King Jay.

Baby King Jay was reported missing in January of 2019.

In exchange for her plea, Torres admitted she committed the crime with her cousin, Christopher Davila, and her aunt, Beatrice Sampayo.

Judge Kevin O’Connell sentenced Angie Torres to 8 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division and a $1,500 fine.
