Bank pays off single mom's student loan debt, totaling $150K
A bank decided to give a single mom the ultimate Christmas gift by paying off her student loans.
Jasmine Ford was the first in her family to go to college. She eventually graduated, became a nurse, and started working two jobs to support herself, her son and pay off $150,000 in student loans.
"Becoming a nurse and being able to serve in the field that I'm in is the greatest honor of my life second to having my son," she recently told media outlet WLS.
But Fifth Third Bank stepped in to help Ford. Bank representative Mike Crawford surprised Ford at her home to tell her, "Fifth Third is paying off all of your student loans today."
Through tears, Ford says the gift will help her save for her own son's college costs.
