Man shoots carjacker who jumped in his car at gas station

SAN ANTONIO (WOAI) — A man was getting gas while at the QT gas station, when another man tried to carjack his vehicle, just north of downtown San Antonio.

The attempted carjacking took place at the intersection of San Pedro and Ramsey just before 10 a.m. Tuesday.

A fight ensued between both men while inside the vehicle at the gas station.

The suspect, who tried to carjack the vehicle, then tried to reverse out of the gas station, police said. The victim pulled out a gun and fired shots, shooting the suspect several times.

The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Officers with the San Antonio Police Department were still questioning the victim and the incident is still under investigation.
