SAN ANTONIO - Several new public health projects will transform medical care and health education in Bexar County over the next few years. A joint venture between UTSA and UT Health San Antonio will produce a new public health school in the medical center area.

"There's huge interest in wanting to enter Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. programs, but also the jobs that are out there when you graduate are available here and are high paying here. That is an absolute formula for keeping our young people here," said UTSA President Taylor Eighmy.

Also coming to the area in the next three years is a $ 30 million medical building adjacent to Texas A&M University-San Antonio, plus a $10 million clinical facility at a site to be determined on the east or west side of the city.
