SAN ANTONIO – Hispanic Outlook has ranked Texas A&M University-San Antonio as one of the nation's top 100 universities producing bachelor's degrees awarded to Hispanic students. The University ranked 64th in the nation and 13th in Texas.
The University was founded in 2009 and continues to experience record enrollment. 77 percent of A&M-San Antonio students identify as Hispanic. Nearly 73 percent of students are the first in their families to attend college.
Dr. Mike O’Brien, A&M-San Antonio Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, says:
Like every university across the nation, we had to face the challenges of the pandemic head on, but we also saw this time as an opportunity to adapt and refine our academic support to ensure that our students were able to continue their academic pursuits.
“We also made sure we provided our faculty with the necessary tools to adapt their teaching methods so they could continue delivering a quality education experience,” he says.
A&M-San Antonio’s overall enrollment grew by 1.8 percent for fall 2021. Many students are expected to cross the stage during three separate commencement ceremonies this December.
