San Antonio FC coach Darren Powell was proud of his team's effort last week despite falling at home. However, his team knew they played poorly on defense. In Sunday's match, they stepped up their defensive play and earned a point on the road.

SAFC scored early and battled to a 1-1 draw against the OKC Energy FC inside Taft Stadium. Danny Garcia had the lone goal for San Antonio in the first half.

San Antonio got on the scoreboard in the 18th minute when Shawn Chin found Garcia in the box, who placed the ball past the OKC keeper to give SAFC the 1-0 lead.

"The goal was from a really good team play," said Garcia. "It was probably one of our best passing sequences of the season and I am glad I put it away."
