January has not been the best month for San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan.

Through nine games, DeRozan is averaging 15.3 points on 39 percent shooting. That is a considerable drop for the Spurs guard after he averaged over 20 points from October through December while shooting over 47 percent.

In a loss against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, DeRozan's January slump continued.

He finished with eight points on 4-16 shooting, ending the night with a plus-minus of -14. That is a far cry from the start to his Spurs career. But teammate Derrick White isn't overly concerned about DeRozan's struggles.

“I’m not really too worried about it," White said.

DeRozan's recent skid could be blamed on heavy minutes played this season. Overall, he leads the team in minutes played at 35.3 and during his hellish January, he remains the top player on the roster in minutes played at 36.

Meanwhile, DeRozan's points per game average has been on the decline. In October, he posted 27.9 points per game, In November, he averaged 21.9 points per game. In December, he recorded 21.6. In January he's at 15.3.

Though he got a night off at Minnesota last week, it did not cure whatever ails him on the court versus the Clippers.

Said White, "It happens and it’s a long season, so I’m not too worried about it.”

According to Cleaning The Glass, DeRozan is still the team leader in Usage Rate at 31.9 percent despite his shooting woes this month. He is also No. 1 in Assist Percentage at 28.8.

Furthermore, in his last three games, he still is helping the team in other aspects. He posted a team-high 6.0 assists per game, 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals in his last three games.

"Next game, he’s going to come and do what he does," said White.
