DeMar DeRozan’s San Antonio Spurs debut was phenomenal (28 points) and hopefully a sign of good things to come.

After the game, DeRozan talked about what it means to wear the Spurs uniform which will put a smile on fans and the team.

“Just going out there understanding that every time I put this jersey on, I’m trying to win.” DeRozan said to reporters following the Spurs win over the Timberwolves.

Aside from his 28 points, DeRozan seemed to be comfortable on the floor with his new team.

DeRozan is entering a new system after playing his first nine seasons in Toronto.

After the first game of the season, it appears that DeRozan will fit in just fine in the Spurs' system. Which could come as a surprise since he expressed his frustration when he found out he was traded.

DeRozan made it very clear that he was not ready to move on from Toronto after being dealt to the Spurs in the summer deal for Kawhi Leonard and felt betrayed by the Raptors General Manager who reportedly was not in full communication regarding his future with the team.

It seems that DeRozan is ready to prove everyone wrong and help lead the Spurs to a great season.
