How you can join the Spurs in the fight against hunger


The San Antonio Spurs and Whataburger will support the San Antonio Food Bank’s mission to provide meals for local families in need during the holidays as the Spurs host the LA Clippers on Monday, Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m. Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring nonperishable items to one of five San Antonio Food Bank stations at the AT&T Center on Monday night. Donors will receive a Whataburger coupon for a free taquito in appreciation of their generosity.

One in six Texans live in food insecure homes, and the number of households in need of nutritional help rises during the holidays when children are not receiving supplemental meals at school. The San Antonio Food Bank’s most needed items include peanut butter, cereal, tuna, beans, rice, and canned soups and stews. A full list of needed items is available at

Donation bins will be located at the Southeast, Southwest and Northeast Entrances to the AT&T Center and at the pedestrian bridge near Lot 7. A San Antonio Food Bank donation truck will also be accepting nonperishable items on the east side of the building in Lot 3.

Fans wishing to give monetary donations to the San Antonio Food Bank can donate to the Tim Duncan 2:1 Holiday Challenge at For every $1 donated, Duncan will donate $2 for families in need this holiday season, up to $500,000. Additionally, each donor of $21 or more will receive a one-of-a-kind holiday card from the Spurs legend.

Starting 5 purchasers can select any five games between now and Feb. 3, and will receive a Spurs-branded KODI tumbler courtesy of H-E-B while supplies last.
