With the NBA trade deadline looming, could the San Antonio Spurs be eyeing a couple of players?

According to Sam Amico of Amico Hoops, the Spurs have an interest in Cleveland's Tristan Thompson and Alec Burks.

Keep an eye on the San Antonio Spurs. They have two first-rounders — their own and Toronto’s. They have an interest in Cavs center Tristan Thompson, though a deal would be tough given Thompson’s salary. He is owed $17.5 million this season and $18.5 million next.
The Spurs may also have an interest in Burks.

Thompson (27 years old) has missed 13 games this year due to injury and is averaging 11.5 points per game, 11.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 29.8 minutes per game. As mentioned in the report, he is due a hefty sum next season ($18.5 million).

The eight year pro has NBA championship experience which would be of value to the Spurs. Not to mention beef up the Spurs big man corp and add some toughness in the paint.

Burks, shooting guard, is posting 10.2 points, and 2.0 assists through 45 games played this season with the Cavs. The Spurs are stacked at the guard spot. With Patty Mills, Bryn Forbes, DeMar DeRozan and Marco Belinelli playing well this season, would the Spurs want to disrupt the rotation?
