Pau Gasol closing in on major milestone, set to pass David Robinson

Pau Gasol

With just 10 more points, San Antonio Spurs' Pau Gasol will pass franchise legend David Robinson on the NBA's all-time scoring list (38th) at 20,781.

A great individual honor for Gasol but he still has his mind on team first.

“It’s a privilege, it’s an honor. I just want to continue to be productive and helpful to my team,” Gasol told reporters at a recent team practice.

Gasol will have his shot at personal history tonight versus Portland. In the opening-night win over Minnesota, he came off the bench and recorded five points to inch closer to passing Robinson.

Should Gasol pass Robinson, he'll be 90 points away from passing Bob Pettit for 37th place on the all-time scoring list.

A milestone well within his reach during his NBA career and a wonderful honor for him.

Said Gasol, “If that means other things individually, wonderful.”
